親愛的家長/監護人: 請您在填寫註冊單之前,先閱讀有關2010-2011學年度註冊的重要資訊。今年註冊單分發方式如同去年;每個家庭會拿到一份註冊單,原則上一家一份。至於註冊須知,語文班老師名單,課外活動項目及老師名單,請家長從學校網站自行下載或查詢。學校網址:www.lcs-chinese.org -> 點選左上角“入學註冊 (Admission) ”。 1. 報名時間:五月十六日下午1:45pm起,註冊組在家長休息室接受舊生及其兄弟姐妹報名;五月十七日起接受通訊報名,new family報名請以通訊方式報名。本校現任教師,家長代表及校務人員可於五月 九日優先為其子女報名,請在註冊單上勾選職務。 2. 學校近年來學生人數不斷增加,教室已面臨不敷使用。學校今年針對下學年註冊作出下列改變。希望家長儘早報名,使學校提早規劃教室及校務安排。
A.取消去年註冊須知中第六條”舊生名額保障”:即今年起,在學舊生沒有所謂保障入學名額。學校從五月十六日開始接受舊生報名,先報名先錄取,額滿不收(請參考註冊須知中各年級人數限制規定);已額滿班級,除非超過八人在waiting list,學校才會考慮增班;若報名班級人數不到八人,學校將會取消該班或併班。學校將於七月十日作出增班、減班及併班的決定。 B.舊生家長在六月二十日以前報名,才享有優先於新生入學資格。 C.語文班學費和家長註冊時間: 越早報名學費越便宜。
Note 1: 九年級、雙語班B1,B2,B3,B4及成人雙語班除按照上表的學費付費外,九年級需加付 $8 中文SATII模擬考試費用; 雙語班B1,B2,B3,B4 需加付$25 課本費; 成人雙語班需加付$45課本費。 (詳細學費請參考2010-2011註冊單或註冊須知)
3. 學校今年新增中文SATII / AP進修班,由陳銀珠老師擔任。上課時間為周日下午4:05-5:00。學生需註冊一整學年(30堂課)而不是分兩個階段上課。已畢業同學、2010-2011學年的八、九年級同學皆可報名。報名請用中文SATII / AP進修班註冊單。 4. 九月三十日以後,不論語文班或課外活動班學生退學,學費都不于退費。退費規定,請至本校網站“註冊須知”查詢。 5. 本校學生家長需義務值勤家長值日,每個家庭在註冊同時,須填寫另一張 $50元支票作為家長值勤保證金;支票不須填寫日期,但請上您的中文名字及Family ID,當您完成值班同日領回支票。*備註: 擔任新學年(2010-2011)專任教師,家長代表及校務人員不須值勤, 請在註冊單上註明職務。 6. 學校為方便部份家長週日仍須上班,請無法值勤的家長註冊時須多繳$45元代班費作為學校基金,此部份不得退回。 7. 家長填寫報名表時,請詳閱〝WAIVER FOR STUDENTS〞並請務必簽名。在此介紹下一學年的註冊主任由黃文琦 (Peggy Hwang)接任。五月十六日以後,家長若有任何註冊相關問題,請多利用email 詢問黃主任。Email: register@lcs-chinese.org

Dear Parent/Guardian, The following notice contains important changes to our enrollment process for the School Year 2010-11. Please read it carefully before you fill out the registration form. As in the past year, each family will receive one registration form only. Other information such as Registration Info, the lists of Language Instructors and Extra Curricular Instructors can be downloaded from the LCS website: www.lcs-chinese.org Go to “Admission” at the left upper corner of the home page. 1. The registration begins at 1:45 pm on May 16th at the school cafeteria. We will start accepting applications from new families after May 17th by mail. The current teachers, administrative staff and parents’ representatives will be able to register on May 9th. 2. Due to the increasing number of students and limited number of classrooms, the school has made the following changes in our registration policy. A. The school can no longer guarantee admission for returning students and their family members. The registration process is first open to the returning families on May 16th on a first come, first serve basis. If the number of students signing up for any given class reaches the maximum, we will not accept any more students even if they are from returning families. Depending on the classroom situation, the school may consider opening new classes, if there are at least 8 students on the waiting list. A class may be cancelled or merged with another class if there are fewer than 8 students signing up. The final decision will be made by July 10. B. Returning students and their family members have the priority for admission only if they registered by June 20. After June 20, their applications will be treated equally with those from new families. C. Registration dates and the tuition: As shown in the table below, early registration discount will be applied to those who register early.
Note 1: Incoming 9th Grade students need to pay $8 extra exam fee. Bilingual classes (B1, B2, B3, and B4) pay extra $25 book fees and Bilingual Adult Class needs to pay extra $45 book fees. (Please see the registration form for detailed)
3. There will be no tuition refund after 09/30/2010. We have a new tuition and refund policy. Please visit our website for details. 4. Each family must submit a separate $50 deposit check for Parent’s Duty. Please do not include the date on the check. The dates of Parent’s Duty Assignment will be posted in the Newsletter. After each family completes its duty, the check will be returned. If the parents failed to show up on the assigned dates, the check will be cashed by LCS. Families with at least one parent actively serving the school as teachers, staff, or parent representatives for 2010-2011 are exempt from the Parent’s Duty and do not need to turn in the extra $50 checks. Please indicate your school responsibilities in your registration form. 5. If you already decide not to participate in Parent’s Duty at the time of enrollment, there will be a non-refundable fee of $45. While we offer this option, we strongly encourage everyone to participate in the school activities and perform the assigned Parent’s Duty if at all possible. 6. We will have a new Director of Registration for the new school year. Ms. Peggy Hwang will officially take over the role as the Director of Registration on May 16th.
