親愛的家長們： 關於2008-2009 年度學費及學生家長值班須知，請在填寫註冊單前，詳細閱讀以下重要事項： 1. 七月三十一日之前註冊，每位學生學費可減免$50 元。 2. 註冊單、註冊須知及老師名單於五月四日分發給各班同學，原則上一家一份。五月十八日下午二時起， 註冊組在家長休息室接受舊生及其兄弟姐妹報名；五月十九日起接受新生通訊報名。本校現任教師，家 長代表及校務人員可於五月十一日優先為其子女報名，請在註冊單上註明職務。 3.學生家長需義務值勤家長值日，每個家庭在註冊同時，須填寫另一張$50 元支票作為家長值勤保證金； 支票不須填寫日期，當您完成值班同日領回支票。*備註： 擔任新學年(2008-2009)專任教師，家長代表 及校務人員無須值勤， 請註冊時註明職務。 4.學校為方便部份家長週日仍須上班，請無法值勤的家長註冊時須多繳$45 元代班費作為學校基金，此部 份不得退回。 5.家長填寫註冊單時，請詳閱〝WAIVER FOR STUDENTS〞並請務必簽名。 6.填寫註冊單時，請填寫您的email 地址，以便學校日後發佈每週通訊及其他通告。 Dear Parent/Guardian, Welcome to Lexington Chinese School (LCS). Please read the following important notes about 2008-2009 enrollment before you begin filling out the registration form. 1. There is a $50 discount for each student registering in language class before July 31st. 2. The registration starts at 2:00pm on May 18th at the school cafeteria. New family can register after May 18th by mail. The current teachers, staffs and parent representatives have priority to register on May 11th . 3. Each family must submit a separate $50 deposit check for Parent Duty. Do not write the date on the check. After each family has finished its role of Parent Duty, the check will be returned. If the family representative does not show up on the assigned duty day, then the check will be cashed by LCS. No check is required if your family member is a teacher, staff, or parent representative, please indicate your duty in your registration form. 4. If you decide not to participate in Parent Duty when enrolling your children, you must pay $45 compensation. While we offer this option, we strongly encourage you to participate in LCS and perform your Parent Duty assignment. 5. Please read carefully the Waiver for Students before signing the form. 6. 每名學生語言班學費為全學年一次繳清 $350 (九年級為 $358 【加收 $8 SATII 中文模擬考試費用 】)；雙語成人班為$375；SAT II為 $90；AP班 $283；雙語班高年級 (B2, B3, B4) 加收書籍費 $16，一般課外活動費為全年 $130，武術、國樂班課外活動費全年 $195，民俗藝術、小小創作、各級繪畫、書法國畫班加收材料費 $20，材料費不退費。七月三十一日以前註冊者，語言班學費每名學生可減免 $50。若於開學以後註冊者，上課時數不足一學期，以每月學費 $33.50 計算，每月課外活動費 $13 計算，武術、國樂班 $19.50 計算。
Tuition and Fee: The tuition for language class is $350 per student per year (the 9th-grader pays $358 per year [the extra $8 is for the SATII Chinese practice test fee]; $375 per bilingual adult class student per year); SAT II $90; 10th-grader $283;extra $15 book fee for B2, B3 and B4 classes; The Extracurricular activity fee is $130 per student, except the Martial Arts and Chinese Instruments are $195 per student per year. There is $20 non-refundable material fee for Folk Art, Junior Painting, Beginner Painting, Intermediate Painting, Calligraphy Painting, and Junior Creativity. There is a $50 discount for each student registering in language class before July 31st, 2007. The following table is for walk-in students registering after school starts. The tuition is $33.50 per month for language classes, $19.50 per month for Martial Arts, Chinese Instruments classes, and $13 per month for other extracurricular classes.
本校語言文化教學分中學，小學、雙語班、幼稚園。幼稚園分大、中及小班。小學部從一到六年級，中學部由七到九年級畢業，高中部十年級以上視為進修班，雙語班分雙語幼稚園大、中及小班，一到四級、雙語成人班；滿八人即開班。除雙語班以英文輔助教學外，其他各班完全以中文教學。本校以正體字及注音法教學。雙語班招收對象以家庭背景不說中文或完全沒有中文基礎的學生，在學期中學生若經任教老師同意，可轉入適合之一般語文課年級。課外活動為選修，按活動性質分為民俗藝術，美術、體育、音樂、益智及健身。
Programs: We offer advanced (grades 10 or above), junior high (grades 7-9), elementary (grades 1-6), kindergarten (levels 1-3), and bilingual kindergarten (levels 1-3) and bilingual elementary (levels 1-4 and adult) Chinese language programs. All classes are conducted in Mandarin Chinese except bilingual, which also uses English. We teach using traditional Chinese characters and the Chinese phonetic alphabet, Zhu Ying Fu Hao (or Bo Po Mo Fo). We offer bilingual classes for students whose primary language is not Mandarin Chinese or for students who do not have at least one Mandarin-speaking parent. Bilingual students may transfer to appropriate regular language class if the teacher agrees. Extracurricular activity is optional and includes folk arts/crafts, arts, sports, music, abacus, brain games, and fitness. 語言班幼稚園除了小班每班不超過十二人外，中班及大班以每班不超過十五人為原則；小學部及中學部以一班不超過十八人為原則；雙語班除第一級每班不超過十二人、第二級每班不超過十五人外，其他各班以每班不超過十八人為原則；每班皆以不足八人則不開班為原則。課外活動人數限制請參考課外活動附表。
Class Size: The maximum class size for different classes is given in the table at the right. The class will be cancelled if there are less than 8 students in the class. The class size for extracurricular activities varies from program to program. Please refer to the list of Student Extracurricular Programs for more details.
以八月三十一日為準，須達到年齡標準才可報名以下各班：幼稚園滿三歲報名小班、四歲中班、五歲大班。雙語班滿四歲報名幼稚園小班、滿六歲報名幼稚園大班、滿八歲報名第一級，或依程度由老師再決定適合的年級。課外活動班另有年齡限制，請參考課外活動附表。
Age Requirements: A student in any of the classes in the table at the right must be at least the given age by August 31st, 2008 to register for that class. Extracurricular classes have different age requirements. Please refer to the list of Student Extracurricular Programs for more details.
報名單及老師名單將於五月四日分發給家長。五月十八日下午二時起在家長休息室接受報名。每人僅限為一家報名，報名時請家長按先後順序排隊等候報名並填妥報名表及支票。自五月十 九日起接受通訊報名，報名順序以郵戳為憑，十九日以前收到的通訊報名以十九日計。本校不接受電話報名。本校現任專任教師，家長代表及校務人員可於五月十 八日前為其子女先報名。開學日當天起，本校接受臨時報名。
Registration Procedure: The registration form and the teachers list will be sent home on May 4th per family. The registration starts at 2:00pm on May 18th in the school cafeteria. A parent or head of the household may register for his/her family members in person or mail the registration form and the checks to the Director of Registration. The school will accept mail registration starting May 19st. Telephone registration will not be accepted. Walk-in registrations will be accepted from the first day of school. The current teachers, parent representatives, and school administrators may register their family members prior to May 18th. *舊生名額保障Returning Students Guaranteed Admittance 本校舊生及其兄弟姐妹須於七月十日以前完成註冊，校方才可保障其名額。七月十日以後註冊的舊生，本校無保障名額的優待，與新生一樣，先報名先錄取，額滿不收。*舊生乃只學年度就讀本校在校生
Returning Students Guaranteed Admittance: Returning students and their family members will be guaranteed admittance if registered by July 10. They will lose this advantage if registered after July 10. 註冊主任按班級人數限制，報名先後順序及學生志願分發班級。每班前十二名報名者可按報名志願分班。班級人數的控制，以同年級班與班之間不相差超過三人為原則，若差至四人或以上者，學校將從第十三名以後報名的學生，按報名順序斟酌調整班級人數。插班學生以分發至班級人數最少的班為原則。
Class Placement: The director of registration will place the first 12 students on a first come first serve basis to their first choice in each class. However, we like to balance the class sizes within the same grade or level. After the first 12 students, we reserve the right to place students in the smaller size classes. Late registering and transfer students will be placed in the class with the fewest number of students. 語言班學費減免優待Discount for Language Classes 子女減免：同一家庭在本校就讀的第三名子女全學年學費可減免$10，第四名起學費全免。 配偶減免：同一家庭在本校就讀的配偶全學年學費可減免$10。清寒家庭出具證明得減免學費。
Discount for Language Classes: If you have three or more children enrolled in our school, the third child will receive a $10 discount, and tuition is free for the fourth and subsequent child. If both you and your spouse enroll in our school for Adult bilingual class, the second adult will receive a $10 discount. Financial assistance is also available for those who need it. 語言班學費及課外活動退費Classes with full year paid tuition refunds 請參考下列退費表。語言課退費需扣除早註冊$50減免及配偶或子女$10減免 。開學後註冊者，退費均依照此表退費，9月28日 以後將不于退費。
